Ruler of the Roost?

Halle is now 15 months, wait, she will be 16 months in a few days! Wow, time flys. Anyway, I thought this picture showed her confindence. I used to get after Payton for always making her cry but now she's the one causing trouble. She takes his toy and runs away and then when he takes it back she cries to me for help. This is his bike. She won't ride hers. She's so sneaky and funny. She loves climbing and can keep up with Payton at the park. She has no fear I swear.

Payton, take 2

I told Payton he can only watch 1 movie a day. He loves movies! Today he chose "Night at the Museum." He calls it the Dinosaur movie though. We went to the Museum of Natural History several months ago and now he wants to go back. Don't know what we'll do when there isn't the real people there. He often will play the security guard. He carries his keys and flashlight. I caught him under the table hiding from Rex. Hey, at least it's a nice break from musicals.

"Cecil, Cecil, I throw the bone?"

Almost everyday for the past year Payton as asked. "Mom, were's Andy?" I tell him he's at school. "oh, ok." Payton gets very excited when Andy comes home early and they can do homework together. He then of course, copies whatever dad is doing. Oh, the pressure! :)

Just look at this sweet face. You'd never know that exactly 10 seconds later she threw her food all over the floor and gave me her first "official" very dirty look. Oddly enough it looked like the painting guy from one of the Ghostbuster movies. You know the one. Luckily for her my camera battery died right then so I couldn't get a pic of it. Sadly I'm sure I'll get a pic soon because she's given it several other times today. Don't know where she could have gotten that temper.

Live with Payton and Kelly

Those of you who truly know Payton, know how much he loves "acting." We have to be careful what he watches because he role plays almost everything. Seriously. Sometimes we watch Regis and Kelly in the morning. Payton gets very into it. I'm actually going to send this into the show cause I think they'll find it funny. He gets his desk, papers, his drink, and I'm not sure exactly what the container is for. If you notice he even has his trivia wheel to spin. It cracks me up! And yes, at the end of the chit-chat, he removes the desk to have just the 3 interview chairs. Buzz and Woody have been his most frequent guests.

Zoo Crazy

Payton and Halle, waiting to see the sea lions feed

Payton and Halle sittin like a bump in a log

Is that you George?

Well, we decided to make another trip to the zoo. Andy said the heck with studying and we had a fun, well deserved, family day. This time we went to the Bronx Zoo which is quite large. We had a great time together and maybe even lost a pound walking around all day.
Payton was so excited to see the alligators and has even found a new interest, turtles! Who knew? Halle loved the gorillas , especially since they would come right up to the window and had a laugh watching them wrestle and run around.
I forgot to mention that Payton explained to us that the alligators are the same ones from one of his fav's, "The Happiest Millionaire". Hence, we saw George.

Fun at the Zoo

Zanna, James and Payton

This last Saturday the kids and I went to the Queens Zoo with our good friends, Mel, Zanna and James. The Queens Zoo is small and mainly animals from America. We were sad the alligator wasn't there this time but we did get to watch them feed the sea lions which was fun. The great thing about this zoo is that you can see the whole thing in an hour or two. The kids especially like feeding the goats and cows. Coming from a farming community I still find it funny that they have coyotes, pigs and cows at the zoo. At home they are everyday annoyances. It was great fun though.
Halle had fun making noises at all the animals. She pulled her ponytail out so her stand up hair made her fit right in at the zoo. Hence the picture above. Everywhere we go, people stop and look at her and then us. They are amazed by her red hair and ask where she came from. uh, ME!! Yes, they have the same dad. Natural reds do happen. Maybe for her we'll start charging for a close up.

Say what?

Well, Andy has had the laptop at school the last few days working on projects. I had planned to up load some pictures of our fabulous selves, until Andy informed me that our new computer won't accept the program from our camera. What the heck! So its still gonna be a while before I have time to get to that. In the mean time I've added older pictures just because.
So the weather is finally starting to warm up here. The kids are so happy to be outside. The flowers and leaves are starting to bloom in our courtyard. I was telling Payton to look at the little buds on the tree. He kept saying, "Butts mom? No sir, don't say that world." Just couldn't get it.

And then there was one more

Well, we have finally crawled out from under the rock and decided to join the real world. As far as blogging goes anyway. It will take me a few days to get everything set up. Maybe I should buy the book Blogging for Dummies. Do they really have that book? I wonder...
So the exciting life of the Gold family will soon be heading your way. Did I actually just say exciting life. I guess I better not get too carried away here. Ok, our oh so semi-normal, yesterday boring, but sometimes exciting life. That's a little more accurate.
So till next time, remember; "Even when you're falling on your face you're still moving forward."
